Abraham
Also identified as Abram
Abraham’s story begins with a call to leave land and family for a place to be shown. Genesis follows his migrations, household conflicts, negotiations, failures and repeated encounters with promises of land, descendants and blessing.
Abraham in the larger story
Judaism, Christianity and Islam all remember Abraham as a foundational ancestor. Within the Bible, later writers use his trust, covenant sign, hospitality and family line to discuss belonging and promise.
Interpretive caution: The narratives do not provide enough synchronisms to fix Abraham to a single archaeological chronology.
