Sources & attribution

A reference register you can inspect.

Manna’s interface is original, but its claims must remain traceable. This page identifies the main source layers and what each is used to support.

  • Primary textual references

The biblical texts named in each record

Used for: Narrative sequence, named relationships, places and explicit chronological notices.

Access / reuse note: References are translation-neutral; Manna does not reproduce a commercial translation as its core content.

  • eBible.org

World English Bible — copyright and trademark notice ↗

Used for: A public-domain translation option when a short quotation is necessary.

Access / reuse note: Public Domain; the World English Bible name remains a trademark and altered text is not represented as WEB.

  • OpenBible.info

    Bible Geocoding ↗

Used for: Cross-checking ancient place identifications and approximate modern coordinates.

Access / reuse note: OpenBible.info states that its content is CC BY unless otherwise indicated. Manna’s first release uses a small, independently reviewed subset and supplies attribution.

  • The British Museum

    The Black Obelisk ↗

Used for: External anchor for Shalmaneser III and tribute associated with the house of Omri / Jehu.

Access / reuse note: Linked collection record; no museum image is republished by Manna.

  • Society of Biblical Literature Press

History of Israel and Judah ↗

Used for: Checking the complexity of royal synchronisms and competing reconstructions of the monarchic period.

Access / reuse note: Linked scholarly publication; summaries on Manna are original and do not reproduce tables wholesale.

  • United States Conference of Catholic Bishops

Historical Introduction: The Historical Books ↗

Used for: Broad historical framing for Israel, Judah, exile and restoration, and a reminder that canonical arrangements differ.

Access / reuse note: Linked for reader verification; not copied.

  • Primary textual references

    Acts 13–28 and Paul’s letters

Used for: The named stops and sequence in the journeys experience. Routes between stops are teaching reconstructions.

Access / reuse note: Manna distinguishes locations named in Acts from inferred connecting lines and approximate dates.

  • Multiple Bible dictionaries and translation footnotes

Ancient weights and measures reference comparison

Used for: Ranges for cubit, shekel, talent, ephah, bath and related units.

Access / reuse note: Values vary across period and scholarly system; the converter exposes a representative value and range instead of claiming false precision.

Editorial bibliography

Online records are supplemented by standard Bible dictionaries, critical introductions, archaeological reports and translation notes. Manna does not copy proprietary tables or study notes into its dataset. Where a specific scholarly reconstruction materially determines a future chart, that edition and page will be identified directly on the chart.

Attribution for geographic checking

Ancient-site coordinates are independently reviewed against the Acts sequence. OpenBible.info is credited as a geographic cross-check under its stated Creative Commons Attribution terms. Manna uses a small curated subset and an original schematic presentation rather than mirroring the source database.
